About Us
We met our senior year in college at the University of Missouri – Columbia. An unlikely couple to say the least, I was an ag major and she was headed to med school, but I fell in love with her at first site and apparently, she thought I was ok as well. We dated for about 3 years, while I was in Atlanta working for John Deere and she was in med school at the University of Missouri, and then married in 1990 settling in Memphis Tennessee where I covered a territory as a marketing representative for John Deere. She finished her final year of med school at the University of Tennessee, graduated from Ole Mizzou and then undertook a four-year residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.
We have both always loved the outdoors and the mountains in particular. I can count on a couple fingers the number of seasons we’ve missed skiing since we were married, and I think they were the two years our two beautiful daughters were born. And so, we added to the pack, and they have become avid skiers and snow boarders as well.
At one time I prided myself on the fact that I had not skied the same mountain twice. I loved going somewhere new every year just to see if I would find something better, better terrain, better snow, better people, anything. They have all been amazing mountains but the best of everything in our opinion can be found here in Utah and in the Big Cottonwood Canyon specifically. We’ve fallen in love with Solitude and Brighton ski areas and love the Solitude Village.
So after many years and much research we are beginning the process of settling down out here. We hope to personally spend more and more of our time here and perhaps retire to the mountains one day. In the meantime though we enjoy sharing the things we’ve found so relaxing and awe inspiring with anyone who also shares the wonder and joy the mountains impart.
